- Check your mute button!
- Check the power and make sure your devices are on!
- Make sure all cables are plugged in securely
- Test the signal flow and routing for each channel
- Double check matrix routing assignments on digital consoles
- Place mics in the right spot (remember: Garbage In, Garbage Out)
- Use the channel EQ to increase quality and intelligibility
- Zero out the board between mixing session or start with a new scene
